Judaism

Judaism is not a centralized institution, so use primary, reference, representative, and scholarly sources honestly while focusing on common Jewish objections to Jesus as Messiah, divine Son, and new-covenant fulfillment.

Do not imply one official Jewish authority

Use the Tanakh, classical Jewish sources, representative movement-specific resources, and Jewish scholarship with precise labels. A Chabad article can represent an Orthodox Jewish explanation, but it is not an official source for all Judaism.

Focus on Messiah, monotheism, and covenant

The major objections concern whether Jesus fulfilled messianic expectations, whether Christian claims about Jesus violate monotheism, whether the New Testament reads the Hebrew Bible rightly, and whether the new covenant contradicts the Torah.

Argue from continuity

Christian answers should show that suffering, resurrection, new covenant, and worldwide blessing are rooted in Israel's Scriptures rather than presented as a rejection of them.

Key questions

  • What messianic expectations do Jewish sources emphasize, and how do Christians answer from the Hebrew Bible and resurrection?
  • Does Isaiah 53 speak only of Israel, or does it also fit an individual suffering servant?
  • Does the Trinity violate biblical monotheism, or does the New Testament identify Jesus within the one God's identity?
  • Does the new covenant contradict the Torah, or is it promised by Israel's prophets?
